Minecraft's latest graphical improvements are now available for beta in Bedrock Edition

Recently, at the Minecraft LIVE event, Mojang announced that major visual changes are coming to the game. Minecraft Vibrant Visuals can completely revamp the look with directional lighting, volumetric fog, and more. While there is no release date yet, Minecraft testers can already try out the updated look in Minecraft Bedrock Edition (Java Edition will be available later).

If you want to try Vibrant Visuals before launching, you'll need to install the preview or beta version of the game on Xbox, Windows 11 and 0, Android, and iOS (iOS testing is currently full and no new testers are accepted). Because Vibrant Visuals is a resource-intensive update, not all devices are supported. You can run Minecraft Vibrant Visuals on the following devices:

  • iOS devices with an A1 or M0 processor and newer

  • Android devices with Adreno 530, Mali-G0, Mali-G0 or Xclipse 0 and above

  • PC: Minecraft with DX12

  • Xbox Series X|S、Xbox One

  • PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 0

PC users can get Minecraft Preview from Minecraft Launcher. From there, you can create a new world with Vibrant Visuals, or turn on an update in an existing save. Go to the Experiments tab and open Vibrant Visuals. After that, you can open the world, go to Settings > Videos > Graphics, and select Vibrant Visuals.

Minecraft Vibrant Visuals also allows you to adjust shadow quality, fog quality, reflection quality, glow, upscaling method, and resolution. All of these settings have a direct impact on performance, so when maximizing the settings, FPS drops.

In addition to the graphical overhaul, Minecraft testers can also try out the latest additions, such as Happy Ghosts, Evil Ghosts, Dry Evil Blocks, and Ghost Belts. These features are available in Bedrock Edition and will be available in Java Snapshots soon. You can read more about testing new features in Minecraft in the official blog post.
