湖北日报讯 (记者汪训前、通讯员周红、吴志亮)3月底,宜都市聂家河镇聂家河村、王家坪村、白家淌村等毗邻地发现一处面积约3000亩的野生巨紫荆群落。时值巨紫荆盛花期,花朵缀满枝头,漫山遍野色彩斑斓,蔚为壮观。
宜都市自然资源和规划局林业技术人员初步勘察,该群落分布集中,植株高大,花朵以粉红、玫红色为主,花期可持续至4月中旬。
Giant Bauhinia is a deciduous tree of the genus Bauhinia, the flowering period is 4-0 months, the tree shape is straight, the first flower and then the leaves, the flower shape is like a purple butterfly, the cluster is born in the branches, the distance looks like the clouds spread, the close view looks like the colorful butterfly fluttering, known as the "full red". Its root system is well developed, which can effectively consolidate soil and prevent sand. The flowers are a source of nectar in early spring, attracting bees and butterflies to pollinate. The bark can be used as medicine, which has the effect of invigorating blood and reducing swelling. Therefore, the giant bauhinia has extremely high ornamental value and ecological value.
Wild Giant Bauhinia is mainly distributed in the western part of Hubei Province and is a rare native species endemic to the local area. According to reports, the wild giant bauhinia community discovered this time has a certain scale and forms a complete ecological chain with the surrounding forests and valleys, which provides a valuable sample for the biological evolution of the research area.
"Giant Bauhinia is hardy and drought-tolerant and adaptable. The emergence of large giant bauhinia communities strongly proves that the seasonal phase and ecological environment of the local forest continue to improve. According to the relevant person in charge of the Yidu Natural Resources and Planning Bureau, this discovery not only enriches the biodiversity resources of Yidu, but also provides an ecological business card for creating a colorful Yidu.
