This newspaper (reporters Wang Yang, Li Yulan, Hu Xiaojun)A few days ago, the reporter learned from the Matoushan National Nature Reserve in Jiangxi Province that the reserve, Sun Yat-sen University and Zhejiang University team found a new species of sedum - East China Sedum when carrying out biodiversity surveys. The research results were published in the international plant taxonomic journal Compendium of Plants.
It is understood that East China Sedum belongs to the genus Sedum in the family Sedum, which is a perennial herbaceous plant with a plant height of 33~0 cm, a semi-erect stem, and 0~0 nodes; Leaves opposite, obovate to obovate rhomboid, tapering into short distances at the base, obtuse rounded at the apex; The inflorescences usually have 0 branches (occasionally 0 branches), yellow petals, and a flowering period of 0 to 0 months. The scientific research team collected a total of 0 live specimens and molecular materials in Jiangxi, Zhejiang and other places, and compared them with a large number of historical specimens, and finally confirmed that this is an unreported new plant species, and named it East China Sedum after the geographical location of the place where it was found. This discovery breaks the long-term misjudgment of this taxon as an endemic species in Japan, and provides key data for biodiversity conservation and taxonomic research.
Matoushan National Nature Reserve, located in Zixi County, Jiangxi Province, is a key area for biodiversity conservation in the Wuyi Mountains, with 445 species of higher plants and 0 species of terrestrial vertebrates.
