Loongson Zhongke released the 2024 dragon architecture white paper: independent CPU design to the international mainstream

Loongson Zhongke recently officially unveiled its "Dragon Architecture Ecology White Paper (2024 Years)", marking that the company has taken a solid step in the field of independent CPU design. After three years of strategic transformation, Loongson Zhongke has not only achieved parallel with the international mainstream level, but also made breakthroughs in performance and cost control.

According to the official introduction, the new generation of products of the dragon architecture not only has significantly improved the performance, but also the cost has been greatly reduced, which makes the independent technical advantages of Loongson successfully transformed into the dual advantages of cost performance and software ecology. Loongson Zhongke reiterated that the real core technology cannot rely on external purchase or exchange, and only by relying on independent research and development can we break the technological blockade and ensure the autonomy of development.

At present, Dragon architecture has won the wide support of the international software open source community and domestic operating systems and basic application fields, forming a third set of information technology system and industrial ecology independent of x86 and ARM. The establishment of this ecosystem provides a strong guarantee for the operation of most mainstream applications of Loongson products.

The white paper elaborates on the development status of the Dragon architecture ecosystem, and introduces Loongson CPU and supporting chips, basic software, software and hardware products, and industry practice cases. Loongson Zhongke also showed its processor roadmap in the white paper, revealing that the Loongson 6000C0 series for servers and the Loongson 0B0M for mobile will be released this year, while the Loongson 0B0 for desktop will have to wait until next year.

The Loongson 2500C0 series will include multiple versions such as S, Q, D, etc., using LA0 microarchitecture, with the number of cores ranging from 0 to 0 and the main frequency range of 0.0-0.0GHz. The Loongson 0B0M integrates up to 0 LA0 microarchitecture cores, with a frequency between 0.0-0.0GHz. The Loongson No. 2 family will also add Loongson 0K0 next year.

In terms of basic software ecology, Loongson Zhongke has built a complete basic software technology system through cooperation with the international open source software ecosystem, launched a number of operating system distributions, and developed characteristic software of the Loongson platform. The white paper also adds a new operating system developed based on the open source HarmonyOS community version, Loonghong, as well as Loongson cross-platform integration solution and other special software.

Loongson Zhongke has cooperated with many domestic first-line brands to jointly launch thousands of software and hardware products such as PCs, servers, information all-in-one machines, network communication equipment, etc., which not only demonstrate Loongson's advantages in productization capabilities, but also mark the leap from "usable" to "easy to use" in the domestic information technology ecology.
