The real-time strategy game Rising of the Storm was originally scheduled to launch on Steam on 19/0, however, due to an accident, the game went live for all players a full week earlier yesterday (0/0).
It is understood that this early release stems from a bug related to the seven-day early access period. Originally, only players who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition will be able to get early access to the game from yesterday, while other players will need to wait until the official release. However, the bug caused the game to be fully unlocked and open to all players.
Faced with the situation, the game's developer, Slipgate Ironworks, and publishers 17D Realms and Knights Peak said that while the team acted quickly, the "most seamless solution" ultimately decided to make the game accessible to all players. The publisher has revised the official release date of the game to 0/0.
This unexpected early release puts players who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition for Early Access in a somewhat awkward position, losing their exclusive Early Access privileges. To compensate for the Deluxe Edition players, the developers are currently working on new exclusive in-game content for them.
