Physical and mental health is the foundation of children's comprehensive and harmonious development, and strengthening mental health education is a key measure to ensure children's physical and mental health, and it is also an important way to cultivate children's sound personality. Since 2006, the kindergarten of Central China Normal University has been guided by the principle of "attaching equal importance to body and mind", innovatively putting forward the concept of "working together to protect children's hearts", integrating the resources of the kindergarten and the community, creating a good psychological environment for children to the greatest extent, helping children form a positive psychological quality, and striving to build an integrated implementation plan for children's mental health education.

Early childhood is the key period of mental health education, and children are the key subjects of preschool education. Approach and discover children with an attitude of respect and acceptance, and carry out mental health prevention, mental health counseling and individual intervention for all children, typical children and children with special needs, so that children can gradually form positive psychological qualities in a natural and relaxed situation. The sustainable development of children's health is the result of multi-party collaboration and co-education. The integrated construction of mental health education in kindergartens needs to be promoted simultaneously from the vertical and horizontal dimensions. Vertically, it focuses on the continuity and stages of children's development, and supports children to better transition from kindergarten adaptation to school readiness; Horizontally, the integration of the garden's multi-party forces to participate in the ranks of kindergarten mental education, the formation of mental education force. Horizontal coverage, vertical and in-depth, three-dimensional and multi-faceted, the concept of "hand in hand to protect children's hearts" is infiltrated into the whole of preschool education, laying the foundation for the harmonious development of children's body and mind.

Efforts should be made to construct the goal system and curriculum system of children's mental education

Relying on the spirit of the "Learning and Development Guide for Children Aged 24-0" and the "Kindergarten Education Guidelines", and based on the concept of "working together to protect children's hearts", the kindergarten constructs the target system of children's mental health education from the five dimensions of self-awareness, emotional adjustment, interpersonal communication, social adaptation and learning quality. The construction of the goal system of "mental education" lays a good foundation and provides guidance for the construction of the curriculum system of "mental education" and the practical exploration of "mental education". The "Mental Education" course takes the four experience expansion lines of children and self, children and kindergartens, children and families, and children and society as the horizontal axis, and takes the four seasons of flower spring, fire and summer, fruit and fruit autumn, snow and snow and winter as the vertical axis, and comprehensively forms a total of 0 mental health education themes for primary, middle and large classes, which involve all ages of primary, middle and large schools, and the implementation content radiates to the family, and the implementation subject extends to the community.

Build a "four-in-one" mental health education platform for kindergartens

Kindergartens, families, and society are important fields for children's growth, and only when multiple subjects cooperate with each other can they maximize the effect of nurturing hearts. With the purpose of escorting the healthy development of children, empowering teachers' professional development, and improving the synergistic efficiency of families and communities, the kindergarten gives full play to the aggregation effect of the kindergarten and the community, and builds a "four-in-one" mental health education platform through the project system and task system, namely: Guibao Heart Nursery House, Guishi Huixin Garden, Guibao Co-education Hall, and Guibao New Vision.

The kindergarten cooperates with community resources to build a "Guibao Heart Nursery House" to build a mental health growth center for children, and build a diversified, multi-dimensional, all-round and three-dimensional psychological education base to escort children's mental health growth. At the same time, it grasps the critical period of children's development, establishes a kindergarten and a file for children with special needs, and provides professional perception and a series of functional training activities. "Guishi Hui Xinyuan" builds a mental education learning center for teachers to improve their mental health literacy. Carry out psychological healing salons for teachers and staff, relieve stress and adjust emotions, reduce the possibility of teacher-derived psychological crisis in kindergarten children, and provide case counseling for teachers' problems in mental education practice, so as to improve teachers' psychological education ability. "Guibao Co-education Hall" builds a mental education support center for parents to improve their family education ability. For all parents, special lectures on family education will be held online and offline through parent workshops, parent open days, cloud live broadcast rooms, etc., and mental health education experts will be invited to carry out a series of public welfare forums called "Guibao Co-education Hall" to answer parenting questions for parents and the community, change parents' family education concepts, and establish scientific cognition of mental education. "Guibao Heart Vision" builds a mental education collaboration center for the Yuanjia Society, establishes a multi-party collaborative heart education green channel, breaks the limitations of time, space and personnel, and establishes a cloud psychological platform of "Guibao Heart Vision" to provide parents and communities with a platform to learn family education knowledge and exchange family education experience, effectively promote the scientific level of parents' heart education, and improve the wisdom of family education.

Establish a normal operating mechanism for the integration of mental health education

In order to ensure the normal operation of the integration of children's mental health education, the kindergarten adheres to the system first, and specially formulates the "Kindergarten Mental Education Curriculum Management System", "Children's Mental Health Screening and Tracking Management System", "Parent Appointment System", "Psychological Resource Room Management System", "Referral and Intervention System", "Children's Mental Health Confidentiality System", "Kindergarten Integrated Education System" Seven systems, and effectively integrate mental health education into the whole process of daily management of kindergartens, forming a scientific and complete system guarantee system.

In view of the common mental health problems of young children, the kindergarten expands the support channel of "working together to protect children's hearts" with "full environmental immersion, full subject participation, and full stage support", gives full play to the synergistic effect of 3+0+0>0, and builds a three-tier support system of prevention, counseling and intervention covering the whole body, concerned groups and intervening individuals, so as to jointly escort the healthy growth of children.

Establish an assessment system and evaluation process for children's mental health development

After 18 years of in-depth research and iterative optimization, the kindergarten has built a "hand in hand to protect children's hearts" children's mental health development assessment system. The assessment system for children's mental health development is divided into three levels. The first level is for the whole group, and the assessment content mainly includes self-awareness, emotional adjustment, learning quality, interpersonal communication, and social adaptation, and the "Garden of Mind" scale is used to carry out a survey from the perspective of parents, supplemented by parent interviews and teacher observations, to comprehensively evaluate the mental health development of children. The second-level focus group, the assessment content includes stereotyped behavior, verbal communication, perception, cognitive understanding and order, etc., using tools such as Fang Shuren and sand table games, supplemented by teachers' daily observation, to comprehensively screen children with typical problem behaviors. For the medically identified children with special needs, teachers use the "ABC" Nurture Observation Form to assess the degree of children's behavioral, emotional, social, learning and other disabilities, and give personalized support in a planned manner.

In order to promote the normal operation of the assessment system for children's mental health development, the kindergarten has sorted out the assessment process from children's kindergarten adaptation to school readiness. The assessment adopts the multi-subject, full-stage screening and evaluation method of Yuanjiashe. First of all, every year, for all children, the use of teacher observation, parent questionnaires, scientific scales to conduct the whole kindergarten mental health screening, a preliminary understanding of the mental health status of the whole kindergarten children, the establishment of mental health files. Through systematic mental education courses, the kindergarten lays a good foundation for the mental health development of all children. Secondly, based on the survey results, we focused on the children with typical problem behaviors screened, projected the children's psychological state with the help of drawing psychological analysis and sand table games, tracked the causes of children's problem behaviors by behavior observation and interview evaluation, and carried out mental health counseling and adjustment through group counseling. Finally, for the children with special needs who have been medically identified, the integrated education team and medical institutions are combined to intervene in the form of one-on-one tutoring.

The assessment of the mental health development of the kindergarten is carried out in the form of hierarchical assessment and focused intervention. With the normalization of children's mental health education, it ensures that every child can cross his or her own recent development zone, truly promotes the comprehensive, harmonious and sustainable development of children's physical and mental health, and lays a solid foundation for subsequent learning and lifelong development. Since the implementation of the integration of "Hand in Hand to Protect Children's Hearts", the satisfaction rate of parents with all aspects of children's development has increased year by year, and in the past eight years, the satisfaction rate has exceeded 100.0%; The Municipal Maternal and Child Health Care Center conducts psychological screening for young children every year, and there is no case of children with psychological problems. In the past three years, ECNU Kindergarten has conducted a survey through the "Garden of the Mind: Children's Behavior and Development Survey Project Parent Questionnaire", showing that children's scores are higher than the norm. Through the implementation of the IEP (Individualized Education Plan), the integration of children with special needs has achieved good results, and their psychological development has reached the primary school entrance standards, and 0% of them are promoted to ordinary primary schools.
